Wha?

I was going to give you guys some new music to listen to but unfortunately, right now I’m stuck using one of these outdated school computers that won’t play sounds. I could look for music all block but it just wouldn’t feel right passing songs on to you that I haven’t even heard yet myself.

So, we’ll go with news instead.

Miley Cyrus likes Radiohead? According to pitchforkmedia.com. She says, “they’re the reason [she] love[s] music.” I have a feeling this is at least a little bit of an exaggeration. Either that or she is just blatantly making it up – either because she is confused or looking for publicity. She tried to meet with them at the Grammys but it didn’t work out. But I’m sure this isn’t the first she has made this kind of claim about a band. Ditzy, hyper young pop stars like Miley are often given to hyperbole and fawning gestures of affection. She may not even know what kind of music she likes anymore. I too would probably lose most of my sense of identity if I was burdened with the kind of pressure she has to deal with – to be unnaturally friendly, happy, and likable all the time.

Have you seen the video of her conversation with Pete Wentz? Oh God. I can barely stifle back my vomit just thinking about it. It’s a little bit like watching liberal pundits debate with conservative pundits while drunk on Fox News.

A sucky comparison, I know.

There are some exciting new albums out that I’m looking forward to listening to and telling you guys about:

The Boy Least Likely To – The Law of the Playground
Wavves – S/T
Abe Vigoda – Reviver EP
The Dark Was the Night compilation
Alela Diane – To Be Still

I’ll be back on this thing soon, I promise.
