Ugh...

It’s been over a week since I last wrote anything on this blog. What can I tell you? It’s not that there hasn’t been anything to write about – I’m sure that over the course of the week plenty of interesting stuff has happened in the indie music world. Unfortunately, I’ve just been too busy to really care. It makes me want to question the purpose of this blog – because while I’ve been falling behind, countless other music bloggers have taken up where I left off. This is a kind of literary survival of the fittest and my species is being replaced by several others better suited to survive in this environment. How can I compete? When I have school work every day and there are hundreds of unemployed nerds with nothing better to do than write about their favorite bands. I guess all I can hope for is that this blog really is something unique – that it isn’t directly competing with these other species. All I can hope for is that I have found my biological niche.

But anyway… I got Saint Dymphna (by Gang Gang Dance) finally after so many months of waiting with no disposable income. I’ve only listened to it once so far but it sounds pretty cool. From what I can remember there seemed to be fewer lyrics than there were in past albums and a lot more cool electronic sound effects. Nick saw Antony and the Johnsons in Boston last Sunday and apparently liked it.

So, that’s about it. Hopefully I’ll find some new singles to tell you about sometime in the next couple days.
